Just Spotted: Intimacy Under the Wires

Sometimes beauty can be found even when you walk by it every day. Living in India, hanging clothes to dry outside the house (usually across the terrace or neatly along the edges of the balcony) is a really common feature, yet Sivan Askayo's fantastic street shots are a wonderful surprise and a reminder that we indeed live in a beautiful world :) Under the title " Intimacy Under the Wires", her pictures are a compendium of her travels.

The pictures below are my favourites, see the rest here.

#Day 12 #100Happy Days

So I was browsing through John Robshaw's book at work today and I came across a lovely paragraph on NID in the sixties. In that little paragraph, multiple memories came flashing back with their stories that I had heard throughout the four odd years that I spent there..  While the book covers his experiences in India and South East Asia through textiles, do check out his wesite here for a delightful collection of fabrics.

In the woods

How about dumping the balcony and getting one of these?? I can so imagine sipping my morning cuppa here {sigh}

Or maybe relax with a book and fall asleep here on a Sunday afternoon..:)

#100 Happy Days #Day 3

Watched the new X-men movie and I pleasantly surprised by it's 3D effects. Finally here is a movie which has made use of 3-dimensional graphics to add a rich dimension to it's characters, especially Quicksilver. Nothing more to say.

#100 Happy Days #Day2

The rain showed us who the boss was after a particularly long spell of heat. What a beautiful break from the summer!

#100 Happy Days # Day 1

#Day 1:
Ran 6 Kms (Well, a good part of it :) ) to plant a tree. Felt really great and spent the rest of the Sunday just like how Sundays are made for - Laziness + great food + sleeping the week's weariness away :)

Here is a really cool poster that Mother Earth released before the event. A small yet dedicated number of people made it to the run and it feels great that somewhere in the city, a midst all the chaos and pollution, a sapling will be planted for every person who ran. A big shout to everyone at Mother Earth for making it happen!
